Five Self-care Ideas

1. Stay Hydrated

Especially since it’s about to be summer and it’s getting scorching outside, you need to drink lots and lots of water. Believe it or not, drinking lots of water is one of the best things that you could do to take care of yourself and to keep yourself healthy. The most efficient way to go about this is just always to carry a water bottle, continue only to refill it and have it wherever you go. I, myself, find this to be very beneficial for me because you feel refreshed and better after that drink of water. It’s the best way to keep your body energized and your head up.

2. Be Creative

There are so many ways to be creative. One of the most obvious ones is to color or draw. Coloring and drawing help calm your mind and allow you just to wind down and enjoy yourself. It gives you an outlet to just relax and be by yourself to be as creative and expressive as you want. Another thing that falls in the original category is writing. Writing allows you to express your thoughts in words on a piece of paper and to think outside of the box. You could also write in a journal or somewhere private to just spill all your emotions and thoughts on paper, and others won’t ever need to see it. On second thought, during this time in quarantine, if you’re up to it or want to take a risk or show the world what you got, you should consider writing a book or a short story. Since it’s summer break and we have a bunch of time on your hands, you might as well take a stab at doing something out of the ordinary. Who knows, it might go better than planned!

3. Bake Something

When you’re bored in quarantine and feel hungry for sweets or something savory, think about baking something that will satisfy that craving. At least for me, I love to bake desserts and make something new once in a while. Plus, if you are feeling lonely or slightly depressed, you might as well make the most of your time and to instead of feeling horrible, bake something because eating comfort food is one of the best things you could do to boost your mood and to put a smile on your face. Trying new things and trying new recipes could always lead to an utterly delicious dessert.

4. Get Organized

I know that for most of us, organizing can be stressful and exhausting. We always like to procrastinate, organizing our messy rooms, and even just putting things in the same place. The fact is that it might seem to be a bit of a struggle at first and a burden, but once you finish organizing everything, then you’ll be a much happier person and more content with yourself and with everyone and everything around you.

5. Try a Few Stretches

Stretching might not be a bad thing to do because it could help relax your muscles, and it could also give you a peaceful state of mind. It makes you feel like you’re already exercising and that you are staying active. It could be just as simple as stretching when you wake up in the morning or after a nap. You should try at least some type of a stretch or two so that you could just feel refreshed and healthy.
